# Are residential proxies detectable?

No, they cannot. Websites, applications, or any other online service cannot tell if you are using a residential proxy. Unlike other types of proxies, residential proxies are virtually undetectable. However, you may still get IP banned for other reasons, such as sending too many requests.

On the other hand, datacenter proxies and free residential proxies can be detected. Therefore, you should always use paid residential proxies.
