# What causes IP location mismatch?

Due to differences in the databases used by various IP detection platforms, the same IP may show different geographic locations across different testing tools. We recommend cross-verifying with at least 3 authoritative databases and prioritizing actual business usability over single geographic identifiers. (Note: Mainstream IP databases have update cycles of 7-30 days, with inherent delays.)
