# Why is my proxy slow?

The most common reason for slow performance is an unstable internet connection, so make sure that your local ISP is working properly. Additionally, the distance between your location and the proxy's location can also be a factor, e.g. if you are trying to connect to a US proxy server while being located in Asia.
