# Unable to Connect

Your device needs certain conditions to be met in order for the proxy connection to be established.

### First, make sure that you:

● are connected to the Internet

● use correct username parameters

● use a valid proxy host address and a correct port

### Additional actions to try:

1\.  Disable your antivirus application (if any).

2\.  If using a remote server, make sure that your Firewall has a pass-through for the port your proxy is operating on.

3\.  Try to connect using a different proxy tool.

4\.  Try to connect using a different network (mobile data, another Wi-Fi network).

5\.  Try to switch to another proxy host. Refer to the [host and port](/proxies/proxy-configuration-parameters/host-and-port.md) guide for available proxy server addresses.
